‘Surgical nursing’ summit in Kuşadasi

The ‘Congress of the Turkish Society of Surgical and Operating Room Nurses’, which will be organized internationally this year with the cooperation of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing and Turkish Surgical and Operating Room Nurses Association, will bring together more than 500 healthcare professionals. The congress, where guest experts from 6 countries and 14 national and international professional association presidents will contribute as speakers, will take place on November 16-19, 2023 at Pine Bay Hotel in Kuşadası. The congress will address 16 different issues concerning the nursing profession as well as current health policies and public health.

Experts from Ireland, Spain, the United States, India, Croatia and Israel will take part as speakers in the congress, which will be organized with the theme of ‘Surgical nurses who progress with innovative approaches, lead and inspire’ in the 100^th anniversary of the Republic.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND INNOVATION WILL ALSO BE DISCUSSED

The results of the congress, where basic issues such as surgery in earthquake, artificial intelligence in healthcare, accelerated healing protocols, surgical site infections, innovation in surgery, violence in health, manpower planning for nurse personnel after the pandemic will be discussed, will be shared with the public in a detailed report.

IT WILL INCREASE SERVICE QUALITY IN HEALTH

Prof. Dr. Filiz Öğce Aktaş, Dean of Izmir University of Economics Faculty of Health Sciences and President of the Turkish Association of Surgical and Operating Room Nurses, stated that they have further developed the scope of the congress this year. Emphasizing that it is of great importance for surgical and operating room nurses to provide well-equipped services under the best conditions, Prof. Dr. Öğce Aktaş said, “The congress, which will be held with the participation of nurses working in the field of surgery and operating room throughout Turkey, will be organized nationally for the 13^th time and internationally for the 5^th time. We look forward to coming together with our colleagues at the congress. Surgical and operating room nursing is a very important field for the healthcare system. In the congress, we will discuss current problems and solution proposals as well as increasing the professional equipment of nurses. It should not be forgotten that the fact that surgical and operating room nurses serve under the best conditions means that the quality of health services received by our society will also increase. At this point, we can say that this congress is very useful, necessary and important from a scientific point of view.”
