Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Balçova Municipality organized the ‘2^nd Healthy Aging Symposium’ for individuals over 60 living in the district, marking an exemplary collaboration. 

Res. Assist. Selcan Zeynep Ergöz Aksoy from our faculty members of the Department of Nursing has been selected as this year's winner of the Early Career Research Grant 2024 awarded by the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS), to which she applied with her doctoral thesis project. We congratulate her and wish her continued success.

World Pressure Injury Prevention Day on November 21st, IEU Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing and IEU Medical Point Hospital organized an event in cooperation with Lec. Dr. Adile Savsar and Lec. Dr. Emine Sezgünsay gave a training seminar on “Risk Assessment in the Prevention of Pressure Sores”.

Izmir University of Economics Faculty of Health Sciences 2024-2025 Academic Year Opening Lecture titled "From Mythology to Terminology" was held with the contributions of Assist. Prof. Dr. Dilek Çakır Umar. The opening lecture was attended by students from Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Nursing and Nutrition and Dietetics departments as well as interested participants. At the end of the lecture, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Filiz Öğce Aktaş presented a certificate of appreciation to Assist. Prof. Dr. Dilek Çakır Umar for her contributions.

Within the scope of accreditation, the stakeholder meeting was held on 17 September 2024, where we came together with our internal and external stakeholders and received their opinions before the 2024-2025 academic year. We would like to thank all our stakeholders for their valuable contributions and participation.

Our faculty was awarded the green flag award in the category of "Accessibility in Education" in the "2024 Barrier-Free University Awards" organised by YÖK in order to raise awareness about the access of disabled individuals to spaces, educational opportunities and socio-cultural activities in higher education institutions and to disseminate good practices.  Disability Support Unit Coordinator Assist. Prof. Barış Gürpınar and Lecturer Burcu Ece Korkmaz, and we would like to thank all our professors who contributed.

Izmir University of Economics 2024 graduation ceremony was held at IEU Amphitheatre on Wednesday, 3 July. At the end of the ceremony, our graduates of the Department of Nursing recited the nursing oath and threw their caps into the air, and experienced the joy of successfully completing their studies at the university.

Within the scope of the Women's and Children's Health Nursing practice course, we held poster presentations on child health and reproductive health protection and development behaviours with our 2nd year nursing students on campus last week. Health to the efforts of our students and professors.

The Skor-O Orienteering competition organised by the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing within the scope of Nursing Week Activities was successfully completed. We congratulate the ranked teams and thank everyone who participated.

Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing and Ministry of Health, SBÜ Tepecik Training and Research Hospital organised the ‘Economic Power of Care Symposium’ in the Nursing Week programme in line with this year's ICN theme with the participation of our esteemed colleagues and valuable students. We celebrate the nursing week of all our colleagues.
